A Study on the Reform on Teaching Methods of Intercollegiate Undergraduate General Elective Courses for Management Colleges - A Design Based on the Management Principles Course in Management School of Shenzhen University
Several issues came into presence since Chinese universities introduced the intercollegiate general elective course system. Based on the theories of economies of scale, specialization and core-competencies, this paper provided thorough analysis of one of the core issues- the efficiency of teaching method for general electives. We suggested a reform to replace the current simple class system with the double-layer lecture with tutorial system, and also provided a case design based on real situation. We believe such a reform would be meaningful in improving the efficiency of teaching methods, therefore in enhancing the quality of teaching.
