Testbed System for Soft Computing with Neural Networks

摘要：

In this paper we present a testbed system for soft computing to support the use of neural networks in science and engineering. There were several projects done by engineering students using this system at Warsaw University of Technology. In the projects we covered different techniques of soft computing. In this paper we concentrate on artificial neural networks (NN) because: (a) NN are directly applicable to solve many engineering and science problems (b) NN are mature enough for reliable software implementation e.g. in MatLab with NN library (c) NN can be explained on many levels of understanding and not always all levels of understanding are necessary to apply NN in practical situations.
