Optimized Localization Modeling of Phone Booths by Using GIS (Case study: Amanyeh region of Ahvaz city)
Urban furniture is one of the important components of a city that can help to create spatial favorite qualities and it is an instrument for serving citizens. Impressive maximum limit of urban furniture will ascertain if these elements be localized optimally. Information systems (like GIS) are one of the exact instruments that are used in this field specially to find the best place for equipment and urban furniture. The most important purpose of this paper is demonstrating of GIS application in localizing public phones as a kind of urban furniture of Amanyeh region in Ahvaz city, and totally showing capabilities of this system in the field of localization. In order to achieve this, transmittal standard pattern was generated in this research by considering the indexes such as natural properties, position and condition of land uses, amount of transits, traffic and etc. and then optimal localization of phone booths was accomplished by using GIS. Finally the current status of public phones in studied region was compared to extracted standard status of location model and the results showed that the current transmittal status has a significant difference comparing to standard status.
