CHLORINE DACAY AND TRIHALOMETHANES FORMATION IN WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
As chlorine decay simulation in real water distribution system is difficult because chlorine decay is influenced by many factors such as water quality, pipe material. In this paper, experiments were carried out to investigate the kinetic model of chlorine decay and trihalomethanes (THMs) formation model in a pilot-scale water distribution system. The kinetic model of chlorine decay and THMs formation model obtained described experiment data of pilotscale water distribution system very well. In addition, the effect of different pipe material on THMs formation was investigated. The rate constants of THMs formation follow the order: stainless steel pipe < ductile iron pipe < PE pipe.
