Experimental Research on Seismic Behavior of Exterior Joints with Special-shaped Columns Reinforced by X-shaped Steel Bar
In order to compare the failure characteristic, bearing capacity, ductility, hysteretic characteristic, rigidity degradation and energy dissipation of the special-shaped column exterior joint reinforced by X-shaped steel bar with the special-shaped column exterior joint not reinforced, the cyclic loading experimental research has been accomplished, and cumulated damage of the two exterior joints is analyzed with damage estimating model. It is shown that the cracking load of the special-shaped column exterior joint reinforced by Xshaped steel bar is increased significantly, and the cumulated damage is reduced while the seismic behavior is improved.
