Research of the Control of Driving Electroosmotic Flow with Dielectric Breakdown
This paper designed a microfluidic chip which uses dielectric breakdown as switches to drive electroosmotic flow. Its function is to control the direction of microfluids through dielectric breakdown. Meanwhile it simplifies the integrating technique to improve the accuracy of the device by replacing electrode with the micro channels by breakdown process. We simulate the electric field, velocity field, current density and joule heat of the breakdown with COMSOL. The simulation results show that using dielectric breakdown to control electroosmotic flow-driven is feasible.
