Simulation of magnetic field and Flocculation effect analysis for magnetic reactor
A new magnetic reactor was presented in this paper. The reactor consists of a magnetic flocculation reactor, a magnetic subsidence area, and a magnetic separator. The flow field distribution in magnetic flocculation reactor was simulated using Fluent software; the forces in the magnetic subsidence area was analyzed, and the flocculation efficiency of the reactor was discussed. The results showed that, under the action of the magnetic field, the flow field was changed greatly, and in an external uniform magnetic field, the sedimentation velocity of the magnetic flocculent was enhanced, and when the magnetic density was 400mT, the flocculation reaction time can be shortened from 18min to 3min, obviously improved 83%; and the removal rate of NH3-N, TP, SS and COD were up to 76.67%, 85.25%, 92.5%, 76.22%, respectively. Meanwhile, the fractal dimension of flocculent was increased from 1.64 to 1.96.
