Damage Location of City Viaduct Based on Distributed Strain Responses Energy

Damage location in city viaduct is establishing a prominent role in modern engineering. In this paper, an energy damage location strategy based on distributed strain energy is proposed. Damage indices, including energy difference (ED) and relative energy (RSE) are employed to locate damages in city viaduct. Two stochastic white noises excitation are adopted to excite the viaduct both in damage state and undamaged state. The numerical analysis results show that both indices of ED and RSE could detect early local damages accurately in the structure, and they also have good anti-noise pollution abilities. Besides, compared with damage index of ED, the damage index of RSE is more superior in damage location with low rate of misjudgment and submerging.
