Effect of Li Doping on Electrochemical Performances of Spinel LiMn2O4 Prepared by Mn2O3

The cathode materials of spinel Li1+xMn2O4(x=0、 0.02、 0.04、 0.06、 0.08, 0.1) were prepared by a solid-state method, using self-prepared Mn2O3 as manganese source. The effect of lithium dopant on the structure and electrochemical properties of the asprepared cathode materials was studied. The results showed that the as-prepared- Li1+xMn2O4 had the spinel structure, and the particle size and distribution were improved by doping Li. The initial discharge capacity of materials decreased and the cycle performance improved with increasing the amount of lithium ions doped, especially the Li1.06 Mn2O4 presents the optimal electrochemical performance, which had an initial discharge capacity of 129.80mAh/g and the capacity still kept as high as 115.66mAh/g after 50 cycles.
