Electrical Conductivity Characteristics of Groundwater in Luohui Canal Irrigation District
Based on analyses of the groundwater-salt distribution characteristics in Luohui Canal Irrigation District, we found that the high-salinity zone and medium-salinity zone were primarily distributed in the central and north areas of the irrigation district. The common feature of these areas was shallow water levels of less than 5 m, except for Well #76 and Well #41. The wavelet method was also employed to study the relationship between groundwater level and electrical conductivity of groundwater in the observation wells #76. Results showed that the changes in water level were opposite to that of electrical conductivity. Finally, by studying the changes in electrical conductivity with depth below the groundwater level of observation wells #45 and #34, we found that electrical conductivity at both well points exhibited stratification. The distribution and stratification results of the conductivity in the irrigated area provide scientific references for soil salinization and well-ditch combined irrigation.
