Evaluation of Urban Landscape Changes with Rapid Urbanization
Urban landscape is mostly determined by human activities, which is changed significantly in the urbanization course. Based on the remote sensing and GIS technique, the TM images and SPOT images were used to analyze spatial patterns of land use in the urbanization course throughout three time periods (2000, 2006 and 2011) in a sub-region of Nanning city, China. In the paper, the changes of landscape pattern were also analyzed using a series of spatial metrics which were derived from fragstats software. According to the results, suggestions were proffered for ecological conservation and environmental protection in Nanning city during rapid urbanization process.
