Improved Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm in Slope Stability Analysis
How to determine the minimum safety coefficient is a key problem in the slope stability analysis. Based on the simplified BISHOP method as the slope stability analysis model, a new searching method for the most dangerous slip surface is presented in view of the foraging behavior of fish in artificial fish-swarm algorithm, which is named as the improved artificial bee colony algorithm (IABC). It avoids falling into the local extreme points just as in artificial bee colony algorithm (ABC). This method has wide applications and is easily implemented. It assures of the convergence to a more accurate global optimal solution with high accuracy. The numerical experiment shows its efficiency and reliability to be significantly superior to ABC.
