Seismic Response Analysis of Isolation Rubber Bearing With a Steel Bar Inside

The paper briefly introduces the main concept and characteristics of the rubber bearing with a steel bar inside, obtaining the resilience model of isolation layer, and analyzes the mechanical behavior of base isolation. Even though the rubber bearing with a steel bar inside can solve the conflict between the structures two response effects under normal earthquake actions and rare earthquake actions, it brings some problems at the same time. The paper carries out the result of an engineer through the software etabs, which takes elastic time history analysis method and inputs 7 earthquake records. At this time, the displacement of isolation layer decreases under the rare earthquake action, but the story shear increases. The result indicates that rubber bearing with a steel bar inside adds the story shear as a result of adding of the stiffness of isolation layer under the rare earthquake action.
