Study on Experiment of Construction Diversion of the Large Hydro Project on the Deep Overburden

Qingyuan Hydro-junction Project on Beijiang river is a large-scale proposed project In Chinas guangdong province. The project is located in the middle and lower reaches of the Beijiang river whose channel width is 1.2km, so the construction diversion has two phases. Because the river exist the deep sand overburden layer which can be easily scoured, the safety protective design of cofferdam is the urgent key technical problem. Through the mobile-bed model experiment of construction diversion, this paper considered the flow erosion law at the river channel and the outer cofferdam, and then put forward some protective measures during the construction diversion stage which can assure the construction safety. This research can provide reference for the design and tests of other similar projects.
