Study on the Approach of Reinforcing the Double Arch Bridge
This paper takes its technological background from a double arch bridge located in Fujian province. Following the thoughts of changing the arc rib cross section properties, it brings forward an approach of reinforcing and restructuring the double arch bridge - by converting its original open section to closed box section in order to improve the cross-section properties and anchorage properties of its structure and greatly strengthen its load carrying capacity. This is to make a good attempt on reinforcing and restructuring the existing bridge. The approach we study here also can be a reference to the reinforcing and restructuring of other existing bridges with the similar open section.
