The application of basalt continuous filament in geogrids
Geogrids plays an important role in the road-laying of civil construction and is subjected to a longterm, steady load in its using process. The paper makes a summary of pavement geogrid and analyzes their advantages and disadvantages. It is known that the basalt continuous filament (BCF) have better tensile strength, greater failure strain as well as resistance to environmental change. This study put emphasis on the acid and alkali resistant capability on this basis. Experiments show that the basalt continuous filament (BCF) provided better chemical stability than the glass fiber and meet the complex condition of the road, especially in the acid-alkali environment, which leads to special use as raw material of geogrids.
