A Hybrid ZigBee Technology in Real-Time Bridge Security Alarm System
Natural disasters have become an important issue in Taiwan. Earthquakes and floods made by typhoons both had made serious damages in Taiwan. For examples, on September 21, 1999, a strong earthquake devastated Taiwans central areas. The bridges had been found serious damages or broken by typhoons Sinlaku in 2008 and Morakot in 2009. The citizens were dead when they were crossing the bridges without any notice. In this design, the comparison type infrared sensor element and ZigBee technology were applied to combine with the bridge security monitor system. When the bridge was broken or serious damage by earthquakes or typhoons, the designed system will active the alarm and transmit the warning signal to the security monitor system by ZigBee technology.
