Design of Tower Saddle for Dimuhe Bridge

摘要：

Tower saddles, which are located on the tower and work under the vertical load pressure from the main cable and transfer the vertical load pressure to the suspension bridge tower, are the key components that let main cable working in good condition. It is important to the overall life and safety of bridge whether tower saddle can work well or not. According to the previous design experience about the long span suspension bridge, this paper discuss the design of tower saddle for Dimuhe bridge, which is located on the highway from Bijie to Duge in Guizhou. In the end, the tower saddle is analyzed by the simplified hand calculation method and the finite element method.
