Impacts of noise barriers on traffic noise for different frequencies in urban environments
The traffic noise of the elevated road was monitored in urban environments in Nanjing. The sound pressure levels for different frequencies are obtained from the sound monitoring data. The sound insulation result of noise barriers with different heights are numerically studied for different frequencies. The result shows that, for noise with a frequency between 125Hz-2 kHz, the noise barriers have a good sound insulation effect. The height of the noise barrier only has an influence for the traffic noise at higher floors of roadside buildings.
