Modified QRD Precoding Method for MIMO Channels With Complete CSI
A new method for antenna selection in multiple-inputmultiple-output (or MIMO) systems is proposed. With reduced computational complexity and lower equipment cost, this method can effectively acquire many of the advantages of the MIMO systems. The best K out of M of the transmit antennas are sorted out using QRdecomposition on the channel matrix H which is sent back by the receiver via a feedback channel. The criterion for antenna selection is to maximize the diagonal elements of the upger triangular matrix R. And instead of selecting from the full combination of transmit antennas, adding one antenna at a time can quicken the process and simplify the implementation. Simulation result demonstrates reduced complexity with little performance degradation.
