Physical characteristics and mineral analysis of dredged soil

For a long time the dredged soil has been considered waste. Through a large number of people of scientific researches, as well as the international shipping industry to make unremitting efforts. More and more people accepted the view that the dredged soil is a kind of available resources. In order to make full use of it, the dredged soil in Qingdao and Huanghua port dredged is analysised in this paper. It includes the sieve test, microscopic appearance analysis, and quantitative study of mineral composition using XRD diffraction. The contrast of physical characteristics and mineral analysis between the dredged soil in Qingdao and Huanghua port makes a better grasp of dredged soil properties. The results of the study provide a guide to apply dredged soil accurately in wider field.
