Preparation and properties of Nano-Mg(OH)2 using Anti-precipitation- AzeotropicDistillation method
Mg(OH)2 nanoparticals can be made successfully by the method of back precipitation-azeotropic distillation, using NaOH and MgCl2·6H2O as raw material, PEG as dispersing agent and normal butyl alcohol as aezotropic. It can prevent the formation of agglomerates effectively to add dispersing agent during the precipitation period. Thus, the dispersion of nanopowders is good which were dried by azeotropic distillation. We use D/maxRBX- ray diffraction to complete the research of the microstructure of magnesium hydroxide nanoparticals and use TGA-DTA curve to investigate the thermal stability of the super-thin, steel-structured, fire-retardant coatings which use Mg(OH)2 nanoparticals as its retardant. The reserch shows when the thickness of fire-retardant coatings is 1.30mm, the limit of endurance heat can reach 106min.
