Research situation of Large Deformation Mechanism and Prevention-Control Measures of Surrounding Rock in Tunnel

Because the tunnel and the understructure works are excavated in the rock or the soil body, in comparison with surface engineering, design construction and maintenance of understructure works are more complicated. Especially, after the underground rock soil body is excavated, the large deformation will produce as a result of the crustal stress field change, it is able to bring the very major difficulty for supports and protections of surrounding rock mass. Based on this fact, this paper introduces the search present condition of formation mechanism of surrounding-rock masss large distortion that was met in process and after the construction of the tunnel and the understructure works, and the prevention measure that was adopted at home and abroad currently. New Knowledge is acquired through study; this will be a salutary lesson to deeply-buried long tunnel construction in china in the near future.
