The power tower status-monitoring system based on the Internet of things

This article focuses on the discussion of an intelligentized status-monitoring system for power tower. The Internet of things (IOT) is introduced, which combines the technique of sensor, GPRS, data acquisition and PC-controi and makes real time monitoring possible and feeds back to the PC Control Room. Such system enables workers at the control center to acquire status information of each tower faster. The feasibility has been verified under both LabVIEW simulation and actual circumstances, with a result of a much higher efficiency and stability of the grid.
