Effect of strain rates on tensile properties of TiAl alloy at elevated temperatures
Effect of temperature and strain rates on tensile properties of TiAl alloy were investigated in this paper. 500℃, 650℃ and 800℃ were chosen to evaluate the effect of temperature and strain rates on tensile properties at the strain rate of 3.47×10-4 s-1, different strain rates such as 3.47xl0-4 s-1, 1.74x10-4 s-1 and 3.47xl0-3 s-1 were used to compare the effect of strain rates on tensile properties at 650℃. The results show that tensile strength decreased little till 650℃; descended rapidly above 650X2 while ductility enhanced largely with temperature increasing; Yield strength continuously declined while temperature rose; Strain rates had a complicated effect on tensile properties of TiAl alloy; The ductility of TiAl alloy about 650℃ was mainly affected by its intrinsic atomic characteristic and its microstructure; Flow stress rely on phase interface, grain boundary, microstructure, deformation temperature and strain rate, phase structure and dynamic recrystallization.
