Study of Sea State Bias Models Based on Collinear or Crossover Data of Jason-1 Altimeter

The sea state bias is the largest source of error in altimeter range measurement, it takes advantage of empirical model to reduce the measurement errors. The GDR data of Jason-1 altimeter are produced to extract the collinear and crossover data sets. Two kinds of empirical models used for sea state bias corrected are., obtained from these data sets. Collinear and crossover data sets analysis reveals that comparing with crossover data set the collinear data set more suitale for model building than crossover data set in low or midddle latitude area. The distribution of difference between two models and availability with latitude was analysed and the result indicates that two model play different part in diferent latitude areas.
