Autonomous Programme:The Construction Practices and Characteristics of Early-modern Urban Planning in Guangxi(1876-1949)

摘要：

By taking Nanning, Liuzhou, Guilin, Wuzhou five major cities of Guangxi as starting point, this paper analyzes the history stages of early-modern urban planning and development evolution in Guangxi, demonstrates the autonomous nature of urban planning process, which contains four periods about Commercial Port Construction→ Old City Transformation→ Planning Interval→ Planning Revival, and reflects the Roadism characteristics of urban planning. At last, it generalizes the urban planning thoughts of Using western technology and constructing ideal cities, combined with Chinese traditional concepts.
