3-D Numerical Simulation of hydraulic characteristic of overflow weir with differential bucket during radial gate opening
3-D numerical simulation is carried out for the water flow during overflow radial gate opening by using dynamic mesh model and VOF method. The velocity, pressure and other hydraulic properties of radial gate and differential bucket are described; the time and location of cavitations damage and gate vibration are obtained. The opening degree that the flow is most likely to jets out is analyzed. Moreover, the results of the calculation are in better agreement with the data obtained in experiments. The method is feasible to the practical engineering and can provide important basis for run mode of radial gate and design of project.
