Analysis on Structure, Function and Defense System of Watchtower in Danba1

摘要：

Danba, Sichuan is a typical living area of Zang and Qiang nationalities with highly developed architectural culture of ancient watchtower. The present paper analyzes the morphology, architectural structure and military defense function of ancient watchtower based on study of ancient watchtower, describes self-defense mechanism reflected by watchtower and residence in severe natural environment and unrest social environment from the national psychology of Zang and gives a sketch of application of spatial 3D defense system of watchtower in villages.
