Design of a Novel 0.1-6GHz LNA in 0.13μm CMOS Exploiting Feedback and Noise Cancellation

A 1.2V 0.1-6.0GHz novel cascade LNA in 0.13μm CMOS is reported. Feedback topology and noise-cancellation characterize the LNA in which input matching and low noise are simultaneously achieved. Only one low Q small inductor is included, area efficiency is therefore improved. The LNA attains a noise figure (NF) less than 1.83dB, given that both I/O reflection coefficient are better than -12dB. The maximum power gain reaches 19.0dB, and the maximal in-band gain fluctuation is merely 1.0dB, gain flatness is therefore captured. IIP3 of -3dBm at 5GHz is obtained. Broadband group delay variation is 15.0ps, at the expense of 10mW power consumption at 1.2V supply.
