Exploring the Ring-Type Stucture of the Suburbs of the Metropolis A Case Study of Huangpi, Wuhan
An investigation has been conducted on the spatial structure of the newly-constructed suburbs of the metropolis, with exemplification of the case study of Huangpi, Wuhan. The methodology applied is sketched as following. First, clarify the compartmentalization of the ring of urban vicinity, the ring of county and the ring of countryside. Second, based on the common points of all the three rings together with the uniqueness of each ring, analyze the reason of such division. Third, figure out the intrinsic rules of the ringtype structure, discussing the shape of the ring of urban vicinity, location of the core of satellite town along with the area proportions of the three rings. Personally, suburbs of metropolises in China share a large common in the economic and spatial pattern. To analyze the ring-type structure of Huangpi, Wuhan will help to clarify the shared features, offering guidance for the development of suburbs.
