OPTIMAL DESIGN OF WATER DISTRIBUTION NETWORK USING GENETIC ALGORITHM
EPANET system, a widely used water distribution network simulation model, is used in this Study to deal with both the steady state and extended period simulation and its computation engine is linked with a powerful optimization algorithm, genetic algorithm (GA). In this present study, GA is applied for the design of a cost effective water distribution network. The findings of this study show that our optimization genetic algorithm used in design is computationally much faster and more effective when compared with other also widely used algorithms.
