Optimization Design of The Traffic Organization Surrounding Bus Station Based on VISSIM Software

In cities road system, the intersections distributed over the main stem have a profound impact on the whole traffics effective operation. This paper takes the traffic surrounding the bus station of huaian for example, focus on its three intersections operational aspects, and with the purpose of improving its whole traffic capacity. By surveying the present traffic quantity in peak time, signal timing scheme and road function divided, it analyzes the traffic flow with VISSIM, then finding out several problems. Based on canalized roads, the optimal plans are proposed from different phases signal scheme or setting an underpass. After that, compared these simulation programs with VISSIM, the best improvement plan gradually is obtained. In addition, the advantage and deficiency between applying VISSIM and traditional means to choose schemes will be achieved.
