Urban Forest Road Landscape Control with the Use of GIS - A Case of Wuhan Jiufeng Urban Forest Reserve
In the process of Chinas rapid urbanization, the cities lay increasingly emphasis on green space protections and environmental constructions, including retaining the natural mountains and forests, in order to provide decent public recreations. Research on the control of the urban forest road landscape will contribute to tbe landscape planning, which would help to fully expose the green open space to let city dwellers enjoy the natural beauty and freshness. In this study, Wuhan Jiufeng Urban Forest Reserve as a case area, tools of GIS are used to make the visual area analysis on the landscape of tbe urban forest road, based on which the control requirements for the building setback distances and building heights are suggested. Then, the road landscape control effect is simulated in virtual 3D with GIS and the related tools.
