Speed Control of Brushless DC Motor using Optimal Fractional Order Controller
This paper presents fractional order PID controller design for speed control of Brushless DC (BLDC) Motor. Classical PID controller is first synthesized using the notions of optimal control theory. For the purpose of comparison, the controller parameters are kept same for synthesizing fractional order PID controller. It was observed that tuning of λ and μ in fractional order PID results improvement in steady state error, rise time and maximum overshoot in speed control of BLDC motor.
