On the Construction and Application of Learner Translation Corpus
The small-sized learner translation corpora have gain an increasingly popularity among language researchers and teachers because of their easiness in construction and convenience in application. In this paper the author introduces the principles and procedure of constructing a small-sized learner translation corpus as well as its application based on translation teaching practices. By using the small-sized translation corpus, teachers could compare and analyze the common problems in students translating practice to improve their translations. The students can also use this kind of self-built corpus to find the inadequacies in their language expressions and strengthen their translation ability by comparing and referring to the general examples in other existed translation corpora.
