Reformation of Mechanics Courses in College Physics

Ordinary mechanical physics, whose knowledge derived from the development of physics over the centuries, is an important foundation for the whole discipline of physics. It directly affects college students and other physical science courses, and plays an irreplaceable role in production and all walks of life. Through years of teaching, we find many problems in the curriculum, contents, and teaching ideas and methods of mechanics of college physics module, which no longer meet the demands of technological development and social progress. In order to cultivate students professional knowledge and their ability in mechanics to adapt to the new demands, we have proposed reform of the mechanics curriculum and the teaching materials. Through reform, we seek to achieve improvement in the quality of teaching this module, and make students to better grasp the nature of mechanics and theoretical physics, as well as setting up a bridge to learn other natural sciences.
