Probing into the EGP+CBI College English Teaching Model
Even after many years of college English teaching reforms in different respects, there are still many problems with teaching English for General Purposes (EGP). The paper explores the present situations of college English teaching and content-based instruction (CBI) of English in Chinese universities, analyzes the causes of the problems by conducting questionnaires and believes that to tackle the problems the EGP+CBI college English teaching model is feasible.
