Connectivism: A Design Methodology in Business English Teaching for the Digital Age
In digital age, the internet is well known as wonderful resource for teachers of business English. The Internet can enrich courses or lessons, provide authentic and up-to-date materials, and help prepare for lessons as well as provide a fantastic opportunity for both teachers research and that of students. Connectivism is a learning theory for the digital age. Learning has changed over the last several decades. The theories of conductism, cognitivism, and constructivism provide an effect view of learning in many environments. They fall short, however, when learning moves into informal, networked, technology-enabled arena. Rather than a learning theory, connectivism has been widely accepted and applied as a design methodology in any learning process with no exception of English study. This article attempts to explore potential of connectivism design for business English teaching and proves that connectivism can help teachers take advantage of the benefits the digital age offers us at any level.
