A Study of English Learning Style Among Students in Beijing University of Agriculture
In the past decades, the concern in the field of English learning and teaching has gradually shifted from how to teach well to how to learn well. Learners individual differences then have been a popular research issue in language education and increasing researches have been made on the possible influences of individual factors upon English learning. Among these variables, learning style is an important component. It refers to an individuals natural, habitual and preferred ways of absorbing, processing and retaining new information and skills. With the help of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences, the author made use of the questionnaire method to investigate English learning style preferences of non-English majors in Beijing University of Agriculture. On the basis of the findings, several implications for English teaching and learning were offered.
