Initial Analysis on Methods of Memorizing English Vocabulary of University Students
How to enlarge vocabulary and how to recite words effectively is a headache problem to most of university students. For them, it seems that there are no other ways to recite the words except rote. Virtually, it is infeasible and ineffective to memorize English words by rote. This thesis first expounds the importance of vocabulary, and then lists the students problems when they are memorizing words. Finally, according to the problems, it analyses the methods of memorizing English vocabulary from four aspects: a. Grasp the basic word-building elements, b. Memorizing words according to the syntax, c. Reciting English words from entertainment, d. The other factors that can help memorize words. Although there are a variety of methods of memorizing words, the students should choose the proper ways according to their own characteristics.
