Tutors Role in Problem-Based Learning and a Three Phase PBL Model Design

Problem-based learning (PBL) has been applied for over twenty years in different fields of education in many countries. This paper introduces the basics of PBL and qualitatively discusses the tutors role in PBL. The author also make a theoretic analysis and develop a three phase PBL-model and takes the curriculum International Finance as an example to illustrate the tutors role in this model. It can be seen that tutors are very important in PBL process and this three phase model can be efficiently used to improve the efficiency of teaching and learning.
