Comparative Study on Differences Between Chinese and Western Sports Philosophies
Chinese sports philosophy is rooted in Chinese culture and ideology system with a five thousand-year history, and is deeply connected with Confucianism, patriarchal clan system and Neo-Confucianism; while ancient Greek and ancient Rome, the cradles of European civilization, contributed a lot on the formation and development of western sports. Different cultural heritages cause differences between Chinese and western sports philosophies. This paper makes a comparative study on their differences in terms of thinking mode, cognitive style and values.
