An ITA of Modularized Assembly Structure for Multiple DAQ Cards
Interface Test Adapter (ITA) is a necessary component in an Automatic Test System (ATS) in that it is a bridge for test signals between Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) and Unit Under Test (UUT). In a DAQ card based ATS,this paper propose an ITA of assembly structure to replace traditionally used terminal boards to establish communication loops between multiple DAQ cards. The proposed ITA design overcomes some shortcomings of terminal board such as low reliability, high cost and large space occupation, and its supported communication types include digital input/output,analog input/output and DeviceNet. Nuts and studs of different length are used to concatenate PCBs,which not only can adjust distances between PCBs,but also modularize the ITA into independent PCB components. An independent PCB of power supply is attached to provide power to its neighboring PCBs which need external power supply to ensure their normal performance. Isolating power supply module also reduces its electromagnetic interference (EMI) and heat radiation to communication loops. The ITA design and its assembly structure are applied in a connection solution between a DAQ card based ATE and virtual UUT,which involves several types of DAQ cards. The assembly structure can increase modularization of ITA in DAQ card based ATS,simplify the composition of TTA and save cost and space of ITA.
