A Multi-user Broadcast Authentication Scheme for Wireless Sensor Networks in Consideration of Quality of Protection
Wireless sensor networks security is more and more important,it is urgent to develop a suite of measurable and quantitative metrics to evaluate quality of security protection. As a new concept in the field of wireless sensor networks security,QoP (Quality of Protection) can provide different levels security assurance of different users. Broadcast authentication is one of the most challenging security problems in sensor networks. The current solutions demands synchronized clocks between the sink and sensor nodes and are designed for singlebased-station sensor networks,Such as μ Tesla and multilevel μ Tesla which can not meet the requirements of multibase-station networks and QoP demands are not taken into account. In this paper,A Broadcast Authentication Scheme based on Shamir secret sharing scheme H-μ TESLA is proposed for Heterogeneous wireless sensor networks in consideration of QoP. The definition of QoP and metrics arc developed and analyzed for wireless sensor networks secure broadcast. With the thought of QoP,H- μ TESLA separates the authentication keys into key shares, and distributes them to each cluster head nodes. Common nodes reconstruct keys by using key shares broadcasted by cluster head nodes and authenticate the broadcast messages. We describe the details of our algorithm and compare it with other proposed schemes. Comparison and theory analysis show that H-μ TESLA have the characteristics of higher authentication rate, more secure, and can meets the demands of wireless sensor networks QoP.
