Simulation Analysis of Robot Dynamics Based on ADAMS and ANSYS

For larger load or accelerated and decelerated motion, robot would produce elastic deformation. In order to more closely imitate the dynamic performance, robot must be analyzed as a flexible body. ANSYS doesnt fit to analyze mechanical dynamics and ADAMS doesnt fit to finite element analysis. So this paper combines ANSYS with ADAMS by modal neutral files to produce a flexible model. The load file of ADAMS generated the boundary conditions of strength finite element analysis in ANSYS. We process stress-strain analysis and the evaluation research of fatigue life. And considering the elastic characteristics of parts, the system gets the stressstrain analysis result based on dynamics simulation results to improve computational accuracy. By the example of industrial robot PUMA560 stress-strain analyses, this paper verifies that this method has better adaptability and reliability and the experiment results are more accurate.
