Stability Analysis of the Sloshing Tank Based on Impulsive Differential System Theory
Based on the theory of impulsive differential systems,this study focuses the analysis on the stability of the liquid tank motion under impulsive sloshing impact. The sloshing in liquid tank can affects the ship motion,especially when the sloshing flow becomes strongly nonlinear and the peak magnitude of the sloshing forces is exceedingly large. In this paper,the coupling effects of the tank motion and sloshing are considered as an impulsive differential system. The sloshing is numerically simulated using Flow3D,and the stability of the system is analyzed. The feasibility of the approach is thus verified. The results show that the impulsive differential system is qualified for the modeling of the sloshing ship,and its stability can be analyzed based on the method presented in the paper.
