All Fiber-optic Laser Doppler Velocimeter for remote velocity measurement

An all fiber-optic Laser Doppler Velocimeter for remote velocity measurement is proposed and demonstrated. This very simple system is based on Fizeau interferometer and is just constructed with a few components. Theoretical analysis shows that this technology can be used for distributed velocity measurement. In the experiment,doppler signal is processed by counting method. A series of experiments have shown a good linear relationship between the sensor response and the velocity applied on the target. The range of this all fiber-optic Laser doppler velocimeter is from less than 0. lmm/s up to 2m/s.
