Channel Analysis on Impedance Related Signal Attenuation of Distribution Network
With the implementation of smart grid,power line communication has been applied widely in remote facility control and power metering data acquisition. However,power line is far from an idea communication channel. Impedance of low voltage power line has important effect on performance of power line communication. This paper presents some measurement results of the impedance on low voltage residential distribution network and related loads at frequencies from 100kHz to 500kHz. Additional,a signal attenuation model,which is related with impedance variation,is deduced. The simulation had verified that this model can approximate the real measurement result satisfactorily.
