A Novel Radio Resource Arrangement strategy for Machine to Machine Communications in 3GPP Radio Access Networks
Machine to Machine (M2M) communication facilitates data communication between machines without human interaction. 3 GPP networks are a promising solution to support M2M communications and LTE-Advanced is making more specializations to enable the emerging applications. However, because of the massive devices in M2M network, signaling overload at air interfaces becomes an urgent issue in LTE-Advanced. It is a feasible way to deal with this problem by allocating radio resources according to packet arrival rates and jitters reported from M2M communication devices. In this paper,we propose a more efficient strategy for LTE-Advanced to record packet arrival rate and jitter of each device to arrange radio resources. The simulation results demonstrate that if there are dishonest packets in LTE-Advanced,most packets from honest devices can be rejected for being unable to get radio resources from eNodeBs. So it will be more efficient for eNodeBs to arrange radio resources with QoS guarantees according to devices real packet arrival rates and jitters from records in LTEAdvanced.
